The Blitz 2024
Through 12-16th March 2024 the Westside Blitz took over the coast. Eight of the leading NZ NBL teams descended across Buller and the West Coast bringing a level of professional basketball never seen before in the region.
Ultimately the Taranaki Steelformers Airs were crowned Westside Blitz champions for 2024 and claimed the impressive rimu trophy kindly donated by local company Westimber.
Most Valuable Player
The Phill Jones medal for the MVP at Westside Blitz was awarded to Dan Fotu from the NBS Nelson Giants.
Across his 3 games at the Blitz, Fotu compiled 22 votes as an instrumental figure in the youthful Nelson lineup. Just a solitary point behind was Mitch McCarron of the Taranaki Steelformers Airs
